Tractor sales start year on a positive note

Mark Moore | EQW

Tractor sales, according to the January Flash Report from the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), started the year on a strong footing, especially in the 100+ HP segment.

Sales of 100+ HP tractors in the month of January were 10.8 percent higher compared to January 2021, AEM says. In the high-volume under-40 HP segment, sales were 2 percent higher compared to January 2021. Sales in the 40 HP to under 100 HP segment were off a bit, down 2.8 percent compared to the same month last year. Total farm tractor sales were up 1.5 percent.

AEW adds the 4WD segment saw a slight dip, and combine sales were off 41.4 percent. Sales continue to eclipse the five-year average.
